Ovid
Bell Today
Today,
The Ovid Bell Press would probably be unrecognizable to our founder.
Gone are the hot metal type and the hand cart which delivered the
mail to the Post Office. Several additions have more than quadrupled
the size of the plant. Computers now assist our workers at almost
every phase of production. More than 125 employees work over three
shifts.
As
one of the largest private employers in the county, The OBP has
a significant economic impact on the community. While we pay competitive
wages to our employees (and retention of workers proves this), customers
from around the country benefit from the Midwests lower cost
of living. The mid-Missouri area provides us with a well-qualified,
energetic and motivated workforce.
Our
reputation as a specialist in short-run periodical printing is a
national one. Of the 200 titles regularly printed, most are from
outside the area. In fact, only 20 customers are located in Missouri.
Specializing in short-run magazines and journals, we are most efficient
with print runs between 5,000 and 125,000 copies.
