Chris
Gilman
Vice President of Production Operations

D.
Christopher Gilman serves as Vice President of Operations
for The Ovid Bell Press. He has worked for The OBP
clientele since 1992, previously serving as Vice President
of Sales for six years. In his current position, he
directs all aspects of plant operations including
scheduling, prepress, pressroom, bindery, mailroom
and shipping.
"We
want our clients to be our strongest advocates," says
Chris. "Each department and every staff member at
The OBP knows that they each contribute to the whole.
Their effort is consistent as we work to exceed our
clients' expectations."
In addition to his years on the sales side of the
business, Chris brings experience as an OBP estimator
to his studies of graphic design. A native of Auxvasse,
Missouri, Gilman holds a B.S. in Business Administration
from Central Missouri State University.

Art
McDermott
Electonic Prepress Department Manager
|
Since
1982, Art McDermott has been gathering experience
in photography, camera work, scanning, film output,
stripping, plating, and producing publications and
books. He puts his extensive knowledge to work for
clients as the manager of the electronic prepress
department. Art prides himself on keeping his department
on top of the latest technology and equipment on
the market.
"I
enjoy the constant flux that the printing industry
faces and the challenge of bringing new methods
and equipment on line," says Art. "I want
our clients to know that we are able to handle whatever
issues and questions they have. When we are on top
of our game, we keep our clients on top of theirs."
Art
holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Printing Management
from Pittsburg State University in Kansas. Prior
to college, Art served the U. S. Navy as an intelligence
specialist, interpreting aerial reconnaissance and
satellite imagery.

Gary
Cundiff
Press Department Manager
|
Gary
Cundiff worked his way up in the printing industry,
from printing newspapers to his current position
as The OBP press department manager. Serving OBP
clients since 1982, his years of experience have
given him a thorough understanding of all aspects
of press operations and the insight to guide The
OBP presses in the most effective and productive
manner possible.
His
technological expertise helps The OBP maintain strict
quality control, troubleshooting any press issues,
overseeing color quality and efficiency, and leading
the press operators in their daily efforts. Gary
was the driving force in our successful transition
from sheet fed to web presses. As a result of his
mechanical knowledge, he has been able to modify
equipment as necessary and meet some of our clients'
special requirements.
"I'm
always looking for ways to improve the operation
and better serve our clients," says Gary.

Kenny
Galbreath
Bindery & Mailing Department Manager
|
Hands-on
experience gave Kenny Galbreath the skills and knowledge
he needs to manage The OBP bindery and mailing department
successfully. Since 1968, he has worked in the printing
industry, and he worked on every piece of bindery
equipment at The OBP as he moved his way up to department
manager. Kenny is responsible for completing the
last step of the production schedule, finishing
the job correctly and on time.
"Over
the years I've learned that organization is the
key to efficiency," says Kenny. "I do
my best to manage the staff and equipment effectively
so each job is delivered to the client according
to their expectations."
Kenny
also works closely with the customer service team,
providing advice on the best way to produce a customer's
special request. When a question arises about a
job, Kenny and the client's account manager work
together to find the answer or solve the issue.
